Today, I was assigned in the client area. When I first got there, I did read through update narratives for 20 minutes as advised. After, I met another staff member who I haven't met yet and worked with her today during my time of being there and she was super nice. Then, I met a new client and her three children and played barbies with them until they left to go to the museum. After talking with them, I spoke with another client who is upset about having to leave this week and tried to help talk her through her emotions because she was visibly upset. I spoke with Claire about changing my scheduled day and time as well today.

Today, I was only able to be there at the shelter 30 minutes due to an emergency with my grandfather. I told Claire about the issue and she was very understanding and explained I'll be able to make-up my hours whatever I wanted to finish them. Sbe just to let her know when and I did send an email this evening to her so we can work that in. I did work in the back area and was in charge of watching the cameras, logging in to check the shelter/client summaries/reports. I also, spoke with the clients and gor a weekly update from each of them. I'm glad that everyone is doing well. Whenever I was about to leave after I received the emergency call, I went and got a client a food item from her crate in a reserved area and brought them back to them. I then said bye to Claire and other staff then signed out.
Today, I shadowed my mentor, Abby, again. I had a fun time working in the client area and speaking with the residents. They're so nice and kind. I played with a mom and her son today while also helping with a resident client leaving the shelter, but also helped with the intake of a new client. I enjoyed catching up with the clients I saw last time!
