MUSICAL AND ARTISTIC BRIDGES, a Workshop and a Concert at Mission Concepción
March 1 and 2, 2025
~Open our hearts as we learn from and pray with internationally acclaimed musicians, Jesse Manibusan and Brother Rufino Zaragoza, OFM.
~Experience the history and beauty of worship at Mission Concepción which began in 1731 and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
~Grow in solidarity with God’s family throughout the world and all of creation.
~ Enjoy Mark's Gospel: a Drama of Hope with Jose Ruben DeLeon; an “Alabado” in Pajalate, a language of the indigenous people here shared by Binisa Zentalla; Holy Redeemer Church and Vietnamese Martyrs Church music and movement ministries.
~Join Sister Martha Ann Kirk, CCVI, inviting youth to build Artistic Bridges with song, art, drama, and dance through the Charter for Compassion reaching out to over a hundred countries.
A WORKSHOP
March 1, Saturday, 9 am to 12 noon, Padre Margil Pilgrimage Center, with an opportunity to experience the Mission church with amazing acoustics. A Workshop beginning with history of worship, music, and art of the Mission. As Franciscan Friar Antonio Margil (1657-1726) sought to learn the languages and cultures of the native peoples, so Brother Rufino Zaragoza and Jesse Manibusan create and share music growing from many languages and cultures and in awe of God’s sacred creation.
CONCERT March 2, Sunday, 2 to 3:30 pm. A Concert in Mission Concepción Church and Reception in Padre Margil Pilgrimage Center
Consider coming to the 12 noon Mass with Mariachis.
No charge. Donations accepted. Please register so that the presenters can have enough materials for all.
