Background:
When ten percent of the population of San Antonio had died of contagious diseases, the mayor begged for help. The Incarnate Word Sisters responded by founding the first public hospital, Santa Rosa, in 1869.
A global expert on “Hatred as a contagious and destructive disease,” Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, is being brought to San Antonio by the Sisters’ Office of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation. The Sisters try to carry forward their tradition as healers. Dr. Abuelaish’s experience and research have led to the creation of the Daughters for Life Foundation https://daughtersforlife.com/ which provides scholarships for young women of the Middle East. He believes that educated women assuming more leadership is crucial for building justice and peace, for healing the world.
Be a part of this evening, joining those in San Antonio who believe that love is stronger than hate. Compassion and education are the paths to flourishing for all.
See other times, such as during the day and evenings, Feb. 17 to 20, that Dr. Abuelaish will present https://saccvi.blogspot.com/2025/01/hatred-is-contageous-and-destructive.html
