Mask Requirements & Covid-19 Weekly Testing Requirements
To be considered fully vaccinated and up-to-date, faculty, staff, students and visitors must have received a full course of a COVID-19 vaccination and a booster shot, whether or not the individual has had COVID-19.
To qualify as fully vaccinated and up-to-date you must have:
- Received booster or
- Received Pfizer or Moderna within five months or Johnson & Johnson within the last two months
If you fall under the following criteria, you are considered fully vaccinated but not up-to-date:
- Received no vaccine or
- Received Pfizer or Moderna more than five months ago or Johnson & Johnson more than 2 months ago, and received no booster vaccination
If you fall under the following criteria, you are considered unvaccinated:
- Received no vaccine
Faculty and Staff:
- Faculty and staff who are unvaccinated are required to wear masks on campus, both indoors and outdoors and test weekly for COVID-19 using a PCR (not antigen) test. These individuals will be required to submit test results to the Office of Human Resources each week. Every Monday, they will need to submit COVID-19 test results for the previous week. Submit results to weeklytestresults@stmarytx.edu.
- Faculty and staff who are fully COVID-19 vaccinated with or without an up-to-date booster but have not submitted proof of vaccination including a booster are required to wear masks on campus, both indoors and outdoors, and test weekly for COVID-19 using a PCR (not antigen) test. These individuals will be required to submit test results to the Office of Human Resources each week. Every Monday, they will need to submit COVID-19 test results for the previous week. Submit results to weeklytestresults@stmarytx.edu.
- Faculty and staff who are fully COVID-19 vaccinated with or without an up-to-date booster and have submitted proof of vaccination do not have to wear masks outdoors. These individuals are required to wear masks indoors except when at their desks/workspaces. However, if your desk or workspace is in a public/reception area, you are required to wear a mask or have an appropriately placed plexiglass shield. (Note: These individuals are not required to test weekly for COVID-19.)
Students:
- Students who are unvaccinated are required to wear masks on campus, both indoors and outdoors and test weekly for COVID-19 using a PCR (not antigen) test.
- Students who are fully COVID-19 vaccinated with or without an up-to-date booster but have not submitted proof are required to wear masks on campus, both indoors and outdoors and test weekly for COVID-19 using a PCR (not antigen) test.
- Students who are fully COVID-19 vaccinated with or without an up-to-date booster and have submitted proof do not have to wear masks outdoors. These individuals are required to wear masks indoors. (Note: These individuals are not required to test weekly for COVID-19.)
- Student-athletics will follow NCAA guidance for mask-wearing for season games and practices, and testing-requirements when in season.
Resident Students:
- Resident students who are unvaccinated are required to wear masks on campus, both indoors and outdoors, and test weekly for COVID-19 using a PCR (not antigen) test. These individuals are required to participate in periodic surveillance testing authorized by the University.
- Resident students who are fully COVID-19 vaccinated with or without an up-to-date booster but have not submitted proof of vaccination are required to wear masks on campus, both indoors and outdoors, and test weekly for COVID-19 using a PCR (not antigen) test. These individuals are required to participate in periodic surveillance testing authorized by the University.
- Resident students who are fully COVID-19 vaccinated with or without an up-to-date booster and have submitted proof of vaccination do not have to wear masks outdoors but they are required to wear masks indoors except when at their personal living spaces. These individuals are not required to test weekly for COVID-19 but must participate in periodic COVID-19 surveillance testing authorized by the University.
***Note: The mask-wearing requirements apply when attending University-sponsored events and activities off-campus.***
Visitors:
- Visitors who are unvaccinated are required to wear masks on campus, both indoors and outdoors.
- Visitors who are fully COVID-19 vaccinated with or without an up-to-date booster are required to wear masks on campus in indoor spaces, and when outdoors, mask-wearing is optional.
