Open Opportunity

About

This opportunity coincides with all Barry University Theology courses and fulfills the Service Learning requirements.

Theology is a study of faith, religion, spirituality, and theology as significant dimensions of human life and fulfills a general education or distribution requirement. Its purpose is to involve students in critical examination and reflection, to engage questions that are significant in this moment in history, and to provide the opportunity for the students to apply their learning to praxis through its Service Learning component.  These courses are rooted in the recognition of the dynamic interrelationship among faith, religion, spirituality, theology, and praxis in the context of human experience. In these areas, it explores the traditions of Christianity and Judaism, as well as other major world religions. Since its purpose is active engagement with the issues and themes raised by the interaction of faith, religion, spirituality, and theology in the context of human experience, this course encourages a spirit of intellectual inquiry on the part of its participants.
